This piece is based on a Gregorian chant that appears, almost in its entirety, in the Alto I line.

The text translates as: Those who trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Sion: they shall not be moved for ever. Just as the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people, from henceforth now and forever.
